Pumphouse Mews

This coop courtyard is a strip of space, about 12 feet wide and 40 feet long and shaded by a 30 foot high wall of black rock. It barely qualifies as a garden.

However, by dividing it, planting a small tree next to a small, sunken patio created in the middle of the space and planting quite intensively along the walkway that runs through the space -- we made it seem bigger than it is, and certainly more inviting.
