Stamford Stroll Garden
Project Credits
On a wooded 4-acre site at the edge of a pond, we created a simple stroll garden. A Pine Needle path was built, to meander through the site, its direction controlled by the plantings that create the ‘rooms’ your stroll takes you through.
Along the way you pass through a Willow Walk; next, a group of Hawthornes; you see Dogwoods and Mountain Laurels, pass a Naturalistic Flower garden, an informal wall of wild-looking Rugosa Roses.
The added plantings are seamlessly combined with the existing plants – thousands of Ferns and flowering Irises make the pond edge glow as you move around the property. Climbing Hydrangeas will soon cover the stone wall that surrounds the swimming pool, to reach the delicate, swaying, transparent combination of Perovskia and Molinia on top of the wall.
